Nowy system skanowania kart pokładowych na ponad 100 lotniskach USA

Jak podaje strona internetowa TSA okazywanie karty pokładowej funkcjonariuszom TSA odchodzi do lamusa na 119 lotniskach w Stanach Zjednoczonych.

Credential Authentication Technology (CAT) – nowa technologia wdrożona przez Administrację Bezpieczeństwa Transportu pozwoli urzędnikom TSA na sprawdzenie tożsamości i informacji o locie podróżnych bez okazywania przez nich karty podkładowej. System CAT uwierzytelnia dane w połączeniu z informacjami znajdującymi się w bazie danych.

Na lotniskach, na których system CAT jest dostępny funkcjonariusze TSA prosić będą podróżnych tylko o okazanie dokumentu tożsamości ze zdjęciem. Dokument ten zostanie przez funkcjonariusza wstawiony do jednostki CAT, gdzie dokument będzie przeskanowany i przeanalizowany. CAT jest połączony elektronicznie z bazą danych Secure Flight, która potwierdza szczegóły lotu podróżnych, zapewniając, że mają oni bilet na podróż tego dnia. CAT wyświetla również status kontroli wstępnej – TSA PreCheck®.

CAT nie eliminuje jednak wymogu odprawy pasażerów w ich liniach lotniczych. Pasażerowie nadal będą musieli pokazać kartę pokładową przedstawicielowi linii lotniczej przy bramce przed wejściem na pokład samolotu.
